Welcome to San Carlos Southern Baptist Association!We're glad you are visiting our website today. This site is available to help answer your questions about Southern Baptist ministries in east-central Arizona, to help you grow spiritually, and to help our congregations fulfill the Great Commission in Matthew 28: 19 & 20 to take the good news of Jesus Christ to all parts of the world.
What is the San Carlos Southern Baptist Association of Arizona?
The Association assists and helps coordinate the work of 11 Southern Baptist churches and 1 mission, with approximately 2,000 members, who have indicated they have entered into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The Association assists the cooperating churches to provide an opportunity for every person in the San Carlos Southern Baptist Association area to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. The congregations in our Association are in positions to help each other in achieving their goals and fulfilling their purposes.
We currently do not have an Associational Missionary/ Director of Evangelism and Missions. The Association's Missions Center is located at 1696 N. Broad Street (US 60) in Globe, Arizona 85501. The phone number is 928-473-9009, the e-address is sancarlossba@cableone.net. We would welcome a visit from you.
2009 - The Year of Evangelism
The year 2009 has been designated as "The Year of Evangelism" in SCSBA. We will be doing other things, but our primary focus all year will be on evangelism to help our people, our 12 congregations and the Association as a whole, grow in their desire and ability to share their faith with those around them who do not have a personal love relationship with God, through the Lord Jesus Christ.
We are planning special events and initiatives to help us celebrate "The Year of Evangelism";
1. We are planning to offer training opportunities to help churches and individuals know how to share their faith in Jesus Christ with those who do not know Him.
2. Also, on October 24, Dr. Jeff Iorg, President of Golden Gates Theological Seminary, Mill Valley, California, will speak to our Fall General Meeting on creative approaches to personal evangelism. That meeting will be hosted by First Baptist Church of Oracle, Arizona, and will begin at 11:00 with lunch in fellowship hall provided by the host church. The meeting will begin at 12:00 in the worship center.
Accommodations for Missions Teams
SCSBA, in cooperation Trinity Baptist Church, Globe, Arizona, provides a dormitory area for missions teams. It is located in the gymnasium of TBC, which has a fully equipped kitchen and a dining hall, along with floor space for sleeping bags, air mattresses, etc., and two bathrooms with a total of four showers. Also, there are several motels in the area. Teams can buy groceries locally and prepare their own meals in the kitchen, thereby greatly reducing the cost of their missions trip. The dormitory is available without cost to missions teams coming to serve in SCSBA.
Missions teams interested in prayer walking, construction/repair, evangelistic surveys, Vacation Bible Schools, creative summer resort (lake) evangelism, etc., are invited to contact San Carlos Southern Baptist Association for possible ministries year-round. If God leads, come to beautiful Arizona. We are located in east-central Arizona, east of Phoenix and north of Tucson. Our Missions Center is located in Globe, and our church campuses are located at altitudes of about 2,500 feet to around 6,000 feet.
If God might be leading you, or your missions team, to SCSBA, please use the "Contact Us" link above, or call us at 928-473-9009. God is at work in SCSBA! Come join Him.
